Library closed July 4th in observance of the holiday

Whether young or young-at-heart, there are all kinds of activities going on at The Brazil Public Library this summer.

To make sure there are enough supplies available for everyone who wants to participate in one of the classes, the staff would like people to RSVP or find out more information by calling 812-448-1981 or check out the library Facebook page for more details about upcoming events, including:

• For the Kids/Family

Brazil Public Library offers many free activities for children and families to do together including:

Crafting Fun Nights

Children 7 and under can join the crafting fun on the following dates between 6-7 p.m:

July 12… Colorful Caterpillars

Aug 2…. Learn to tie your shoe

Sept 6… Glow stick lightening bugs

Oct 4… Pet picture frame

Nov 8… Falling leaves

Dec 6… Cinnamon ornaments

Children 8 and over have their own craft nights, starting at 6 pm.:

July 11.. Back to School basics

Aug 1… Stained glass butterflies

Sept 5.. Learn 911

Oct 3… Harry Potter potion ingredients

Nov 7.. Native American necklace

Dec 5.. Christmas CD ornament

• Special Summer Programs

Everyone is welcome to all of the special programs featured as part of the Brazil Public Library’s summer programs starting at 1:30 each Wednesday, except on July 4th when the library will be closed. Previous events have been well attended and there is still more fun to come, including:

Sept. 5 … Back to school basics

These programs are sponsored by the Clay County Friends of the Library.

The adults can also stop by the library to enjoy relaxing programs designed with them in mind, including:

• Art by the Fireplace

The Adult Coloring program starts at 6 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month upstairs by the fireplace on the second floor of the library.

FREE coloring pages are provided, with a different theme each month and lots of pages to pick from.

People are encouraged to join in on the fun at the following dates:

August 8

September 12

October 10

November 7

December 12

Some supplies are available, but people are encouraged to bring their own.

• New Quilt Club

A quilt club called “Sew Much More” is taking roots at the library for beginners to professionals. The public is invited to bring ideas and techniques to share with others and make new friends. Please call 812-448-1981 to RSVP a place in this free Adult Program.
